Identify hardware - The guided tour

Start > HW not installed > No FCC ID > HW type known > RAM module > No ID label

If your RAM module is equipped with an SPD EEPROM and can be installed in a functional PC to read the manufacturer and specification data you can proceed at

Start > HW installed > HW type known > RAM module.
In case your RAM module has no SPD EEPROM you'll have to identify the RAM size of a single RAM chip and multiply by the number of identical chips found on your RAM module. The number of chips should equal 2 / 4 / 8 / 16 or 32. If you find 8+1 chips you've got a RAM module with parity where one chip is used for checksums. Please proceed at

Start > HW not installed > HW type known > RAM chip

Help
SPD EEPROM is a small chip at the upper right corner of the RAM module. It stores timing
info on the chip as well as the module manufacturer ID. (SPD - serial presence detect)
